I'm so into nineties everything — mom jeans, chokers, and wild platforms. Also appreciating basic clothing played up with not-so-basic shoes and accessories. A majority of my looks lately in a nutshell. My high-heel hiatus ended on Tuesday when I wore these platforms for the first time and ouch! They hurt like a son of a gun. Back to flats. xo

Three Seventeen

Layered in recycled pieces with the exception of my newest sunglasses from Linda Farrow. Love a good cat eye and the fact that they're wrapped in matte leather makes me love them even more. If you're in the market for a new cat eye — highly recommend this style. Very convinced that Linda Farrow designs and constructs some of the best sunglasses in the world. 

Three Ten

Wraparound faux sleeves? I think so! Smitten with the entire DKNY x Opening Ceremony collection that I had a difficult time narrowing it down to a few selects. The collection captures the essence of DKNY in the early nineties when it exploded into the scene — jumpsuits, logo tees, puffer jackets, and sneakers. You can view more of the collection here.

Yesterday

Super comfy errand running attire from yesterday and pretty much my go-to outfit over the last few days. Slip-ons have become my sneaker of choice, hands down. Which leads me plotting between this skull style or this leopard style for my next sneaker purchase. Crushing on the little pineapple-skull print that is all over Saint Laurent's S/S 2014 collection.

Monday

Okay, so I discovered another good tank from Pencey Standard. It comes in black, too. Of course I picked it up in both colors because a good basic is a rare find for me. If you have any favorites, do share. Now I'm off to tackle some last minute madness before the holiday. Definitely regretting my seasonal procrastination. 

Oak

Discovered the best tank of my life by Oak. Dramatic, yes, but oh so true. We're such soul mates that I tripled up in white. You can modestly layer another tank underneath or let a bra peak through if you're feeling playful. Love it's versatility and highly recommend. Oh, and it comes in black, too!

Can't seem to get enough of this combo. Cropped knits layered with jackets for days. I blame reformation for their insane collection of cropped cashmere knits. I think I've purchased one a week for the last five. Needless to say, I have a few more of these combos coming your way. Accept my apology now for future monotony.  

Eleven Twenty-Nine

I recently teamed up with Reef to put a pair of their shoes to the test. I have a friend who swears by their Deckhand flats, so I figured I'd give them a go to see what all the hype was about. The insides are made with a mattress inspired foam which literally feels like you're walking on marshmallows. Great for those days when my feet need a break or that mid-day switch out with my four inch heels. A perfect addition to my collection of flats. 

Yucca

A little nineties inspired action the day before I left to China. I'm shivering just looking at this series of photos because it was a high of fifty today in Beijing. Totally motivated to head to Zara tomorrow to pick up a few wool trench coats that I've been coveting. I have five days left to take advantage of the autumn that won't exist when I get back to California. Layer me up. 

Teen Spirit

I grew up in the nineties, so needless to say, I love me some grunge. If I could swing it, I would load my wardrobe up with every single grunge piece that Saint Laurent has to offer for F/W 2013. Oh, the styling possibilities if I could get my hands on this dress! Definitely my favorite from the collection. This trend is very accessible because most of us own pieces to create this look without much effort. Thoughts?

This was my super chill look from Sunday. Still trying to maximize the wear time of these very summerish pieces that I picked up at the end of the season. I love these sandals for the fact that I receive the most bazaar looks each time I wear them. Also, a great conversation piece, I might add, if you're single and ready to mingle.

I've been working away the holiday weekend in preparation for fashion week. Needed a break today and indulged in a little stress eating lunch/dessert session at one of my favorite local spots, Zanzibar. Wearing all recycled pieces with the exception of the newest addition to my sunnies collection, brushed silver clubmaster awesomeness from Ray-Ban. I've been fond of this style since my teens, but had never found a color/size that fit my face properly until now. Something about this newer brushed silver style really works for me. Softening magic.

Monochromatic black has pretty much been my uniform for the last five days. Sitting here in a black maxi dress as I type this post. I ransacked my closet earlier this week pulling out all my favorite black pieces and found this little gem from Goodnight Macaroon. I wore it with a very reliable mock neck top from American Apparel and Balenciaga fall staples.

I pulled my Balenciaga boots out of retirement yesterday. It's been almost a year since they needed a repair and I finally took them into my cobbler last week. He fixed the bottoms and polished them up and they're like brand new. Just in time for fall and fashion week. Wearing them with the most perfect vintage cashmere sweater and high-waist denim from Tory Burch's new collection.

Scored the most comfy oxfords from Loeffler Randal this week. I'm a huge fan of the silver mirrored leather and the 1.5 inch platform makes them even more lovable. They're a perfect match with my cargo denim pants from Joie which are equally as comfortable. Topped off with all reliable recycled accessories.

Looking for a back up fedora that's worthy of trading places with this one a few times per week. I've come to terms with the fact that I'm a crazy hat lady, and I feel naked at most times without anything on my head. I found an insane style from Maison Michel, but for the ticket, I might end up sleeping with it on to justify the price. Please leave me a comment if you have any other fedora suggestions.
