Top Knot

I went shopping in my closet this morning, and discovered this playsuit from Topshop that I've neglected for far too long. I'm not quite sure how that happened, as it's surprisingly one of the only playsuits that fits my torso correctly. It was in my rotation for at least a year, and some weeks I would wear it even twice, and then it was swallowed alive by my closet. Which is a swift reminder that it's in dire need of some reorganization.

If you're on a budget like me, and Isabel Marant is one of your favorites, then you'll be in for a treat if you have a local Zara nearby. They have so many inspired pieces from her Fall 2012 collection, that I was in complete heaven when I stopped by the Santa Monica store over the weekend. I picked up this blouse and boots, which were inspired by two of my favorites from this collection, so needless to say, I was stoked. Although, the real deal will forever haunt my dreams.

I've always been in love with this trend, and something about these two pieces screamed, "we'll make one hell of a canadian tuxedo" so I went with it, and actually walked out the front door, which is more than I can say for some of my previous concoctions. Plus, it made me uncomfortable, which technically means that I grew as a person yesterday. Who knew.

Back in spring, I posted here on the many ways that I like to wear my favorite sneakers of all time, converse. After receiving a few requests for another post, I was inspired this morning to put together a few of my favorites over the past six months. I hope these looks inspire you, as you do me on a daily basis!

Oh, and mad props to converse for keeping this sneaker alive and thriving since 1908. I'm forever a fan!

Last night, I wore this beautiful jacquard singlet dress by the amazing Aussie label, Maurie & Eve. I'm really loving it's versatility. I wore it earlier in the week with ankle boots and a vintage hat. I have a few other new pieces from their new collection, and I can't wait to share them with you!

Cascading Chiffon

Another attempt at trying to get mullet dresses completely out of my system, because I'm pretty sure I've overdone this trend to the max. I'm sort of glad it's coming to an end, because if they're in my face, I won't be able to stop. I've tried. So, if the mullet dress gods are listening, please do not make any more. My bank account will thank you.

I wore this gorgeous positano maxi dress by Bec & Bridge to dinner tonight. Hands down, the best maxi dress that I own. I'm trying to flush vivid colors and pastel prints out of my system since we're heading into fall. Although, this dress is going to be hard to stay away from until next spring. We'll see.
